Independent freight forwarders · KG Logistics, 20 years

Every leg of the journey, run from Aberdeen.

Air, sea, road and rail. Customs, storage and project cargo. One independent team in Aberdeen, one line of accountability, from collection to final delivery.

Twenty years of freight forwarding behind us, a brand-new Aberdeen base in front of us — close enough to answer the phone, connected enough to move anything.

KG Logistics has moved freight since 2006. The Aberdeen branch opened in 2024 at W-ZERO2 in Altens — inside the Energy Transition Zone, minutes from Aberdeen harbour, a short run from Aberdeen International Airport, and a straight road south to Grangemouth for containers.

We handle the awkward jobs as readily as the routine ones: a pallet to Rotterdam, an urgent AOG part to Houston, a full container of project equipment with lifting plans and customs entries attached.

W-ZERO2, Altens.

The whole site is ours — building and yard, no shared bays and no queuing behind another tenant. W-ZERO2 at 1A Minto Drive is a warehouse brought back rather than knocked down: refurbished to Net Zero guidance, with the foundations, walls, steel frame and fire doors kept out of landfill. Clear-span storage, roller-shutter access straight onto the yard, and the harbour a few minutes away.

Out of the yard,
onto the road.

  1. Groupage Shared trailer space on scheduled runs — the economical option when the dates allow.
  2. Dedicated Your freight, one trailer, straight through. Tail-lifts, hiabs and low-loaders where the load needs them.
  3. Same-day A van or an artic on the road within the hour when a rig date or a production line is at stake.
  1. 01 Collection

We book the collection, check the packing and weights, and raise the paperwork before a wheel turns.

  2. 02 Customs

Entries lodged, commodity codes checked, transit documents issued. No freight sat waiting on a form.

  3. 03 Terminal

Airport, quayside or rail head — loaded, secured and manifested with the carrier we booked.

  4. 04 In transit

Tracked leg by leg. You get a straight answer about where it is, and an early call if anything slips.

  5. 05 Delivered

Cleared at destination and delivered by our agent on the ground, with proof of delivery back to you.

Freight that behaves differently, handled differently.

Aberdeen is an energy town and we forward like one. Drilling equipment, subsea kit, tools going offshore and coming back for repair — packed, certified and moved against a rig date rather than a wish.

  • Offshore and onshore project moves
  • Repair-and-return traffic
  • Dangerous goods by air, sea and road

Regular lanes for manufacturers, engineering firms and distributors: scheduled groupage into Europe, container imports from Asia, and the customs work that keeps them clean.

  • Scheduled European groupage
  • FCL and LCL imports
  • Supplier collections and consolidation

One-off moves where the cargo decides the plan: route surveys, lifting arrangements, escorts and permits, sequenced so the crane and the trailer arrive on the same day.

  • Out-of-gauge and heavy lift
  • Route surveys and permits
  • Charter by air and sea

Smaller consignments treated with the same discipline as the big ones — export cartons, trade samples, exhibition freight and household moves overseas.

  • Export packing advice
  • Exhibition and carnet freight
  • Door-to-door personal effects

QQuality

The same team quotes the job, books it and answers the phone when it matters. One file, one owner, no ticket queue between you and the freight.

HSHealth & safety

Loads assessed before they move: weights and centres of gravity checked, lifting points agreed, dangerous goods declared and packed to the class they belong in.

EEnvironment

Consolidate where it makes sense, rail the long legs where the schedule allows, and say plainly when the faster mode is the dirtier one.

Four people, not a call centre.

Ring the office and one of these four picks up. The person who quotes your job is the person who books it and the person who calls you if it slips.

Tell us what's moving.

Dimensions, weight, collection point and destination is usually enough to come back with a price. Anything unusual, just say — that's the part we enjoy.

  1. 01We read it and come back with questions only if the job needs them.
  2. 02You get a price with the routing, the transit time and what it excludes.
  3. 03Say go, and the same person books the collection and stays on the file.
